Mark was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. He began playing organized lacrosse at Jamesville-DeWitt High School, as a freshman, and played all 4 years at JD. He earned All-County honors his junior and senior years. He was the Captain of the Varsity team his senior year, and was recruited by many top Division I and Division III schools to play Lacrosse, including Syracuse University, Cornell, University of Massachusetts, etc.

He decided to attend Syracuse University, and was awarded an athletic scholarship. As a junior and a senior he was the 1st close defenseman, and relied on to guard the top opposing attackman. Both years he was awarded All-American Honors, and the team won the NCAA championships, in 1988 and 1989.

Since graduation, he has played on and/or coached numerous Lacrosse club teams all over the country, including the Richmond Lacrosse Club, Virginia Commonwealth University Lacrosse Club, the Guinness Lacrosse Club, the Atlanta Lacrosse Club, Harrison High School Lacrosse Club, and Kennesaw State University Lacrosse Club. He has also enjoyed coaching youth lacrosse in the area. Mark has been the community coach for the Harrison High School varsity team since 2012.
 
 
Mark has been involved with MAYLA as the Director of Boys Recreation Program. He has even spent a few years as an official, and is a member of the Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association. 
 
 
Mark has been married 22 years to Brenda and together they have 2 children Brianna (13), an avid volleyball player and Zachary (11), an avid lacrosse player.
